Police believe they have caught one of the men involved in the killing of GPL Chief Security Officer, Clifford Peters, in Lamaha Park last Monday.
The suspect, a 23-year-old resident of West Ruimveldt, was arrested on Wednesday and is being detained at the Brickdam Police Station.
Kaieteur News understands that he was positively identified yesterday by GPL employees who witnessed the execution-style killing.
Police sources say that they had arrested the suspect before for armed robbery.
Peters was gunned down on Monday while he and other GPL crewmen were removing illegal electrical connections in Lamaha Park.
The 59-year-old retired Senior Superintendent of Police, was shot several times in his head and chest and died en route to the hospital.
The gunmen took his licenced firearm before fleeing into a bushy area aback of Lamaha Park.
