Farmers at little Baiboo Mahaica Creek are criticising the revetment work being carried out by the Mahaica Mahaicony Abary/ Agricultural Development Authority MMA/ADA, claiming that their outfall kokers are being blocked.
Work on shoring up the dam of a section of the Mahaica Creek commenced a few weeks ago to prevent the water from spilling over to the cash crop farmlands.
However, farmers said that despite their advice, the contractors are continuing to carry out their work, contrary to conventional wisdom.
The farmers said that they have had to endure severe hardship as a result of constant flooding and the authorities are not making their livelihood easier.
