Dear Editor,
It would indeed be a breath of fresh air should Cuba be the next venue to host the 6th Summit of the Americas as highlighted in the Guyana Chronicle of 4.21.2009 by Richard Lord and titled “Panama in line to host next summit”.
It’s evident that it will have to be a collective decision between the Democrats and Republicans on the US Senate with regards to the lifting of the embargo.
My instincts are also telling me that should the above become a reality, the Obama Administration might just as well be contemplating to use the next summit’s forum to announce the much awaited decision on the embargo, which will definitely be welcomed by many from all ends of the globe.
I would definitely have my signature attached to any petition drawn up and it will also be a wonderful approach for Haiti having some much needed attention during the upcoming summit.
