Linden Sooklall called ‘Coolie Boy’ of Wakenaam, Essequibo, who was wanted since 2007 for three charges of attempted murder, has been held in Berbice.
A police release stated that Sooklall was detained yesterday at a house at Sheet Anchor, Canje, Berbice.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Sooklall following his failure to attend court after having been placed on bail for charges of three counts of attempted murder.
He has been charged jointly with Rajendra Bhagwandin following an incident on November 13, 2005, at Parika Backdam, East Bank Essequibo, where it is alleged that they chopped Hemwattie Ramdial, Vinood Persaud and Budhram about their bodies.
The arrest warrant for Sooklall was issued in September, 2007.
