The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the Upper Demerara Football Federation are mourning the loss of one of its greatest daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Hutson who held the distinction of being the mother of five sons who donned national uniforms for Guyana, Renwick, Selwyn, Rawle, Rickland and Rudolph.
Born and bred in Bauxite Mining Town of Linden, Mrs. Hutson was also a mother to the Christianburg Community where she ran a feeding programme for senior citizens and children on a yearly basis.
She was a shrewd and outspoken football administrator, serving over four decades. Mrs. Hutson’s administrative career started with the Christianburg Club later renamed the Eagles United F.C.
Up to the time of her passing she was still serving as Treasurer.
She also served on the Executive of the UDFA and was a strong and highly respected voice at the General Council level.
The President’s and executives of the GFF and UDFA are expressing their sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the late Evelyn Hutson who will be laid to rest today.
