The National Sports Commission’s ‘Sportswoman of the Year’, Alika Morgan added yet another accolade to her cabinet when she took home the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) Female Athlete of the Year Award.
Morgan was given the award at an AAG prize giving ceremony Friday night at Olympic House where double South American 10km Road Race Classic winner, Cleveland Forde was adjudged Male Athlete of the Year.
Parliamentary Secretary, Steve Ninvalle gave the keynote address on behalf of Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony, who was expected to speak at the annual athletics forum held to reward top athletes.
Ninvalle reassured the AAG of Government’s commitment toward the development of the sport and congratulated the two top awardees on their most recent achievement.
He took the opportunity to applaud the other winners.
