The I Movements Promotions group, headed by promoter I Salam, will host a Rasta versus Baldhead clash at the Bartica Community Centre ground today.
The programme opens from 5:00pm with a contest between the Bartica Sub-Association Under-15 team, who are preparing for the Inter-Association competition, facing an over-15 combination in a warm-up game.
This will be followed by a penalty shoot out between the two teams in the feature contest. This contest according to the promoter will see all the players from the two sides participating. Every goal scored will see the player collecting $1,000, while a similar amount will go to the goalkeeper effecting a save.
The main attraction is the Baldhead versus Rasta clash for the Dino’s Trophy and $30,000 for the winner, while the loser takes away $20,000.
Several of the country’s leading players of the not too distant past will showcase their skills. Among those appearing for the Baldhead team are Terrence Archer, Chris George, Stephen Gomes, Junie King, Clinton Isaacs, Paul Campbell, Ivelaw Lovell, Mark Smith, Mark Jardine and Neil Joseph.
The Rasta’s will feature Eddie Knights, Richard Jones, Leslie Powell, Dean Washington, Leon Garraway and Dereck Lynch among others.
Among the sponsors lending support to the event includes Hopkinson Trading, Michael Martindale, Neighbourhood Pharmacy, Mike and Tessa Groceries and Pure Diamond.
Promoter I Salam recently collected tangible support from Pure Diamond Proprietor Vonche for today’s event.
