The curtains will come down on another successful Unity Cup Inter-Ward competition this evening at the West Demerara Secondary school ground with Den Amstel tackling Showtime for the top prize of $120,000.
Showstopper, are already assured of the third prize of $20,000 following the expulsion of their semi-final opponents, Goed Fortuin who walked off the field in support of one of their teammates who was booked for a second time in their clash.
The second booking meant an automatic red and his departure from the game and his teammates felt that it was too harsh so they too, walked off. A meeting of the officials subsequent to their unsporting behavior resulted in them being kicked out of the tournament.
An exhibition game featuring Showstopper and a West Demerara X1 will be played. Kick off time this evening is 18:00hrs.
