Competition in the Netrockers Football Club organised Linden Town Week under-19 football competition is set to continue this afternoon at the Bayrock Community Centre ground.
Blue Berry Hill will match skills with Vasco from 16:00hrs in the group ‘B’ encounter.
In earlier matches, host club Netrockers hammered Hi Stars 3-0 to confirm their status as one of the favourites to win the competition. The players on target were Fitzroy Chin in the 31st, Clarence ‘The Shark’ Huggins (46) and Orande Wills in the 49th minute.
According to Netrockers coach Eon Wills, his team could have won by a much bigger scoreline but his charges did not work according to the game plan. He was however pleased with the results.
In the competition’s opening game, Amelia’s Ward United edged Eagles United by the lone goal of their encounter, Oliver Cromwell, the man on target in the 39th minute. Meanwhile, the NFC President declared open the tournament at the official opening which was also attended by the President and Secretary of the Upper Demerara Football Association.
The Linmine Secretariat Constabulary Band provided the musical entertainment for the march past.
