Dear Editor,
Music from different cultural background has made some significant impact to many and I was elated when A. R. Rahman, Music Director of “Slumdog Millionaire” was awarded an Oscar for his contribution towards that particular film.
Indian movies, “Fiza,” “Dil Se” “Khamoshi” “Bombay” and “Zubeida”, which are considered Indian classics within my collection, are ones that also created a lot of buzz and even though I am not certain about the movies mentioned above, I believe that A. R. Rahman also had some input with most of them.
As much as “Slumdog Millionaire” did extremely well at the box office and bagged many awards, I never did fell in love with the name for many reasons. I choose not to go any further because I am not prepared to have a debate on it. Eventually, I will look at the movie and am certain I will be in agreement with others that it lived up to expectation.
