Abdul Sattaur, a 20-year-old resident of Number 79 Village, Corentyne, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in an accident while riding his motorcycle (CC 936) on Tuesday.
According to the police, Sattaur was riding his motorcycle along the main road in Number 79 Village, when he attempted to overtake a motorcar and collided with the rear of the car.
Immediately he lost control of the motorcycle and ran off the road to slam into a van, which was parked in a yard.
He was taken to the Skeldon Hospital, and was subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he died while receiving medical treatment.
