Almost four weeks after the stabbing incident on Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, that left Julius Chung dead, the police on Monday questioned Dianne Browne, the mother of his son, who was severely injured after allegedly being attacked by Chung.
According to a police source, Browne presented herself to the police for interrogation.
The police are hoping that the information she provides will help shed some light as to how Chung met his death. After Monday’s questioning had been completed, Browne was not detained, but further interrogation was expected to be conducted yesterday.
The stabbing, which took place on Joseph Pollydore Street, on February 18, last, has left the police baffled and unable to ascertain whether or not Chung had killed himself.
Monday was the first time Browne had spoken to police, since the stabbing took place. The police had made several attempts to question her, while she was admitted in the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), but she had declined to speak with the police, saying that she was not well enough to do so at the time.
Browne was released from the GPHC some time last week.
Chung was found dead in a pool of blood in Browne’s bottom-flat apartment minutes after he had allegedly stabbed her several times. A source close to the police homicide department has explained that due to the circumstance under which Chung’s body was discovered, it was difficult to ascertain whether Chung was murdered, or if he killed himself.
Browne had sustained stab wounds to both of her hands, abdomen and back before rushing out of her downstairs apartment to seek help from neighbours.
