Affected like all other competitions in Guyana as a result of the prolonged rainy season, the East Bank Football Association / Fruta sponsored under-13 league is set to resume today at the Grove Community Centre ground with five matches.
Grove Hi Tec squares off with Samatta Point in the days first game set to kick off at 10:00hrs sharp. Craig will then go into action against Mocha Champs one hour later, Bagotstown tangle with Meadow Bank, Timehri Panthers face Soesdyke Falcons and Agricola match skills with Kuru Kururu.
The competition, which is sponsored by Guyana Beverage Company Inc., had started last November at the Providence ground with Grove Hi Tec behind a double from Mervin Squires hammered Bagotstown 5-1 and Timehri Panthers were 1-0 winners over Samatta Point.
Having enjoyed a prolonged rest period, the East Bank youngsters are rearing to go and some exciting matches are anticipated.
The East Bank Football Association is urging all teams to be on time to facilitate prompt kick off for their respective matches.
Guyana Beverage Inc. will also be providing liquid refreshments for the teams throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, plans are in train for under-15, 17 and senior leagues along with knock-out competitions and teams are asked to begin preparing their squads.
The under-17 tournament is expected to be launched sometime in the new week and is sponsored by the National Sports Commission.
