The hot international act ‘T- Pain’ carded for the Mash night mega concert at the GCC Ground is no longer coming to Guyana.
Word is that a top promoting entity in Guyana has informed the super star’s management that rumors are circulating of death and abduction threats should he visit the country to perform.
Yesterday at a press conference, Hits and Jams official Kerwin Bollers indicated that while they were engaged in feverish preparation for the show on Saturday night, T-Pain’s manager contacted them claiming that threats have been issued to the artiste’s life from Guyana.
Bollers said that T-Pain’s management claimed that they were contacted by a rival local entertainment group who informed them of the rumours.
This, he noted plunged the whole T-Pain Camp into panic, prompting them to curtail his performance at the Mash night show which is greatly anticipated by Guyanese.
As stated by Bollers, Hits and Jams Entertainment had all arrangements in place to fulfill every condition of the contract with the US based group, inclusive of a full payment of the contract sum.
Bollers noted that they have since exhausted every possible option to reassure the T-Pain group about the adequate security measures in place and have indicated their willingness to go to the extreme to ensure maximum safety is provided to the artiste and his contingent.
With the group still refusing to have their artiste set foot in Guyana, Hits and Jams Entertainment has since contacted their lawyers who were swift on the uptake to address this breach of contract.
Both parties share the suspicion that this threat may have come from one of the competing entertainment groups in Guyana.
According to Bollers, the Hits and Jams camp will be filing a lawsuit against T-Pain and his management team. So far, as indicated, the T-Pain team has agreed to refund monies already paid to the artiste and have indicated plans for a possible compensation for inconveniences caused.
Bollers noted that be that as it may, like good soldiers the show must go on, and that Hits and Jams Entertainment is not going to buckle under pressure or fear those ‘with the negative vibes’.
In order to remain true to their supporters and patrons, Hits and Jams have since come up with a contingency plan to add four more international artistes to the performance on Mash Nite. As it stands the newcomers to the platter are now carded as dancehall king, ‘Bennie Man’, ‘Maxie Priest’, ‘Peter Ram’, ‘Bigie Irie’ and Trinidadian Soca Monarch ‘Sherwin Winchester’, who will of course team up alongside ‘Serani’ to deliver a ‘Mashramani Fever’ at the venue.
These artistes have begun winging in from last night to perform alongside Guyana’s Timeka Marshall, reigning soca monarch queen, ‘Shelly G’, ‘X’s 2’, and other local acts.
As stated by Bollers, those with VIP tickets will be refunded 50 percent with the option of still attending the show while those with regular tickets will still be able to enter the show. Additional tickets are still on sale at the various locations previously announced.
Arrangements for all other aspects are in place, inclusive of security, parking, stage, lighting and sound system, among others.
Hits and Jams Entertainment says it regrets the inconvenience of T-Pain’s cancellation but reassures that like always, they will bring the best artistes to demonstrate their loyalty to supporters and patrons who have been faithful over the years.
