The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) in association with the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) will on Sunday host a 35-mile road race to commemorate the 85th birth anniversary of former President of Guyana, linden Forbes Sampson Burnham.
Burnham, who was born on February 20, 1923 and died on August 6, 1985, was Prime Minister of Guyana 1964 to 1980 and President from 1980 to 1985. Sunday’s race which is expected to be a fast pace event will pedal off from Carifesta Avenue at 07:30hrs proceed to the Belfiled car park before returning to the starting line for the finish.
This will be the third time the event is being held and is open to senior, junior and veteran riders.
The first six seniors to cross the line will be rewarded as will the first three juniors and veterans. Six prime prizes will also be at stake. The event is sponsored by the PNCR.
