Former national junior female basketball player, Tamara Hunter scored a game–high 20 points to lead Charlestown Secondary School pass New Campbellville Secondary at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall Thursday night.
Hunter dominated in the 35–16 points win in the female version of the National Sports Commission Schools’ Basketball Championships that is currently underway. Tauquator Gibson scored 16 points for New Campbellville.
Tesrick Rambissoon combined forces with national junior player, Yannick Dundas and Wainright Haynes to demolish Plaisance Community High with a 55–8 points’ victory in one of two male games carded for the night.
Rambissoon and Dundas scored 16 points each while Haynes added 11 points in a needed win that kept their hopes of advancing to the next round alive. They are currently second in Group ‘A’ along with Charlestown at the top.
Guyana Technical Institute played New Campbellville in the second game Thursday and are currently heading Group ‘B’ that also includes Guyana Educational Trust College and the unbeaten Covent Garden Secondary.
Richard Mohandat led President’s College has the top post in Group ‘C’ ahead of Central High, East Ruimveldt and Critchlow Labour College. Saint Stanislaus College are ahead in Group ‘D’ with Marian Academy trailing.
