Caribbean Airlines once again displayed its benevolence when two Guyanese players selected on the West Indies Rugby team captain Claudius Butts and Albert La Rose were presented with tickets to attend the two-week training camp in Barbados.
Making the presentation on behalf of the entity was Sales Executive Kathy Shuffler-Ten-Pow, at the Company’s Head Office yesterday.
In her brief remarks, Shuffler-Ten-Pow said that the Airlines was again happy to be associated with rugby, referring to many acts of support in the past.
“The players always stand up to the plate and as usual always deliver,” she added Butts thanked the Company for the support on behalf of himself and La rose, who was unavoidably absent due to work commitments.
Also present was President of the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) Noel Adonis, who in his response also expressed gratitude to the entity for its assistance, adding that Caribbean Airlines offer was not only to Guyana’s rugby, but the Caribbean as well.
“Caribbean Airlines has remained consistent in its support to rugby and it is important that we put that on record,” Adonis emphasised. The two players are expected to depart on Monday.
