Attorney-General Charles Ramson was yesterday sworn in as a new Member of the National Assembly for the second time. The former Justice of Appeal was named the new Attorney-General last Friday by President Bharrat Jagdeo following the resignation of Doodnauth Singh last December. This is the second time that Ramson is serving as Attorney-General. His appointment as the Attorney-General now leaves a vacancy at the Court of Appeal.
Commenting on his appointment, Ramson said, “Whenever you are called to serve your country, you need to respond positively. I did so as Appellate Tribunal member; I did it as Attorney-General before; I did it as a member of the Disciplined Forces Commission, and now I’m back again.”
