Dear Editor,
Do I support sheds for speedboats?
It is an issue for the Ministry implementing the new code and speedboat operators; being prone to life in the tropics is what I am used to.
There are indeed many brands of sun lotions/creams to choose from when dwelling under the sun on a daily basis and some may need to consult their respective skin doctors for the best advised brand to use.
Over the years, using the Parika/Supenaam speedboat services has always been adventurous for me and I have to count my blessings that under no circumstances had I ever been exploited as reported by Mohammed Khan in the Guyana Chronicle dated February 3, 2009.
I have on many occasions seen other travellers flexed with in terms of excess baggage. Of course, there are indeed occasions where one is asked to pay an additional fee to the actual cost of the ride and that is when many of us carry an overload of baggage for the space it takes up and weight.
Does this new code apply to private tour operators’ boat service from Charity to Moruca and the boat services that transport passengers to the gold mining locations (Bartica to Cuyuni River, etc.)?
