Magistrate Sherdell Issacs-Marcus, on Thursday, granted a 54-year-old man his pre-trial liberty in the sum of $50,000 when he appeared before her on a charge of indecent assault.
Kenrick Grinion, of Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara is accused of fondling a 10-year-old female student of the Clonbrook Primary School a week ago. He was represented by attorney-at-law Sandill Kissoon.
According to reports, Grinion, a photographer, had visited the school and was asked by the victim to take her photograph.
It is alleged that, in the process, Grinion placed the child behind a door and fondled her vagina.
Teachers saw when the child emerged from behind the door and questioned her.
She revealed that she was fingered by the man, who was subsequently detained by the police.
Kaieteur News understands that the suspect had recently been barred from the school on the instructions of the Ministry of Education, following allegations of a similar nature by other students.
