Anand Sanasie, who replaced Bish Panday as secretary of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), visited the Essequibo Coast on Saturday and met with Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) President Sheik Ahmad and his executives.
The ECB Cricket Hostel and indoor practice facility in Anna Regina, Region Two, is in its final stages of completion and an assessment of required furnishing was done by the high level cricket executives during their visit.
Sanasie, who is also the President of the West Demerara Cricket Association and Vice-President of the Demerara Cricket Board, wanted to acquire first-hand knowledge of progress on the new hostel and indoor facility.
His tour also included a visit to the Suddie indoor facility to observe the under 15 training sessions currently ongoing under the watchful eyes of Coach Forbes Daniels.
Meanwhile, re-elected GCB President Chetram Singh and other GCB executives yesterday met with the Berbice Cricket Board of Control to discuss their differences and plot a way forward for the development of Guyana’s cricket.
