NEW AMSTERDAM, BERBICE — The Metro Office and Computer Supplies extended its bigheartedness to two institutions in Berbice on Friday.
During the morning, Chief Executive Officer of Metro Office and Computer Supplies, Taajnauth Jadunauth, and the Manager of Berbice Branch, Avia Lindie, handed over a quantity of books to Professor Daizal Samad for the Tain Campus of the University of Guyana.
In accepting the gift, Professor Daizal Samad spoke of Metro’s ongoing assistance to several schools across East Berbice /Corentyne, and how much he valued the donation to the Berbice Campus.
Hours later, Taajnauth Jadunauth and Avia Lindie visited the New Amsterdam Hospital, where they presented that institution with a bed and linen.
This gesture forms part of an ongoing sponsorship of Ward Eight of the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Dr. Vishwa Mahadeo, Chief Executive Officer of the New Amsterdam Hospital, extended plaudits to the company, and spoke of what the gift means to the institution.
Mr. Taajnauth Jadunauth said that the company would continue to fulfill its obligation as a corporate citizen, as it has been doing since its establishment 13 years ago.
“Metro’s gesture to the University of Guyana Tain Campus and the New Amsterdam Hospital upholds the company’s continuing recognition of and support for the work of these institutions. We hope that optimum benefits are derived from the items donated today.”
In recent times, the Metro Office and Computer Supplies have handed out in excess of $40 million in both cash and kind in the form of donations.
“Berbice has been the major recipient, primarily because Metro’s owner, Mr. Ron Ramnarayan, is from Berbice.”
Other institutions in East Berbice which have experienced the benevolence of the Metro Office and Computer Supplies in the form of computers and printers, construction of computer labs, photocopiers, multimedia equipment and payment for technical personnel support, among other things, include the J.C. Chandisingh, New Amsterdam (Multilateral), Bush Lot, Corentyne Comprehensive and the Black Bush Polder Secondary Schools, Crabwood Creek Primary School and the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club.
