Dear Editor,
The Bureau of Standards has recently stated that it will begin to certify importers of used tyres.
Is this development? In this day and age, when the reduction of waste, the safety of the travelling public and economic considerations, such as examination of price versus cost, ought to take precedence over the mindless bureaucracy of certification of imported rubbish into our already overtaxed system, it leaves a lot to be desired.
The Bureau should explain to the public what standard they are upholding by this latest certification exercise?
