A 48-year-old labourer died while receiving treatment at the Leonora Cottage Hospital for treatment he sustained after falling from a coconut tree.
The incident occurred at about 15:30 hours yesterday at Stewartville, West Coast Demerara.
According to the police, Mukesh Harikushun, had climbed a coconut tree and apparently held on to a dry branch which gave way causing him to fall to the ground and sustain injuries.
He was rushed to the hospital where he died while receiving medical attention.
