Missing penny bank money
The remaining members of the “Lily of Fields Church” who were awaiting their monies from the treasurer, Joan Harry, have been paid.
This newspaper was told that the last of the members were paid on Monday. This newspaper was told that, on Monday, Harry paid out over some $2M to the persons from whom she had collected monies.
On December 3 last, members of the church who were a part of a ‘penny bank’ saving turned up to collect their monies, but were told to wait a few days longer.
However, when the members turned up on the date given to them, their monies were still not ready, and as such the members decided to stage a protest for their monies.
Having been given the royal runaround for their monies, the matter was reported to the police, and Harry was arrested.
After her release, she did manage to pay some of the church members; and on Monday the remainder was paid their monies.
In total, Harry had owed her fellow members some $4M.
