Terrance Wills, 20, of 217 Middle Road, La Penitence, was yesterday slapped with two counts of attempted murder when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
It is alleged that the accused, on December 30 last, at Albouystown, wounded Ato Coates with a knife. He also wounded Delon Hoyte, of James Street Albouystown, the next day. He was not required to plead to the charges.
According to Police Prosecutor Sherwin Matthews, it was a stabbing incident which resulted in both victims sustaining multiple wounds.
Matthews further told the court that, on December 30, Coates was in Albouystown sitting on a bicycle when the defendant snatched his cell phone and stabbed him in his chest. He added that Coates collapsed and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by persons who were at the scene.
Matthews added that on the second occasion, Hoyte was standing on James Street when the defendant came from behind and chucked him in the head. An argument ensued and the previous day’s stabbing was recalled. Wills then stabbed Hoyte several times about his body.
Hoyte fell to the ground and was rescued by public-spirited persons, who took him to the hospital.
When the presiding magistrate asked Wills if he had anything to say, the accused declined to speak.
He was remanded to prison, and is expected to make his next court appearance on January 26.
