Thirteen-year-old Shyon Rose is missing. Her mother, Jennifer Rose, said on Thursday, at her 14-14 Durban Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown residence, that her daughter was last seen on Tuesday afternoon at around 15:30 hrs, when she left with her school uniform in a haversack to have it pressed at her father (Roger Hoppie’s) home at 2574 Kaikan Street, North Ruimveldt.
Ms Rose said that when the young girl did not return home late into the night, she became alarmed and contacted the girl’s dad, other relatives and close friends, none of whom had seen or heard from the missing teenager.
The search continued on Wednesday, but came up empty, since not even her closest school friends seemed to have any idea of her whereabouts.
The mother noted on Thursday that she is very concerned over her daughter’s disappearance, since ‘all was well at home’, and her daughter never stayed out late at nights.
She said that the teenager was in high spirits when she left for her father’s home on Tuesday, waving at her (the mother) and indicating ‘she would be back before it is too late’.
The matter has since been reported to the Alberttown Police Station, and the authorities there are carrying out investigations.
The mother is imploring persons with any information of her daughter’s possible location to call telephone numbers 689-4927, 689-7881, 231-9801, or the nearest police station.
