The Parrot would like to congratulate the Commissioner on being confirmed as the nation’s top cop. Dem boys seh that technically, the man can now be described as a retired “cop cop”. Now don’t get the wrong impression; I am not in any way insinuating that the man can be described in entomological terms. No way.
Any semblance of such outlandish thinking must be debunked. His anatomy is an obvious vindication of any related inference. What I meant is that he has finally copped the CoP’s position after a period of acting; his acting “career” is over.
Uncle Bharrat ensured that the acting CoP break the New Year as the CoP. The sense of accomplishment that tends to accompany such confirmation was evident when the CoP gracefully slid across the floor during his many dances to usher in 2009. Those images of his nimble feet, almost air-borne, have dispelled any doubts that might have crossed from 2008 about him venturing into the realm of physicality.
Dem same boys seh that the dances he was engaged in this year were far more vigorous than last year’s. Well, the reason is obvious. That was his COP, Coming Out Party. Not what you are thinking; coming out of acting party.
Following his confirmation, is plenty others looking to dump their “acting career”; those who never had an acting career looking to have something confirmed. Even the non-conformists want to be confirmed as non-conformists. It’s conformation confusion. The CoP had the edge though; he and his colleagues ensured that “Fineman” and “Skinny” and others were confirmed dead.
Road fatalities in 2008 were the lowest in almost four decades! That’s confirmed. Carifesta X and the last Christmas season were incident free. Confirmed. In other words, the CoP copped the confirmation by COP; Constantly Overwhelming People.
The agitation for other confirmation since is indeed overwhelming. The AFC wants some areas with water to be declared “disaster areas”. They want Uncle Bharrat to confirm this. The AFC has an AFC; Affiliation For Corbin. Anything he bellows, they echo. They are aware of the scientific reasons for the intense rainfall that caused devastating floods which led to loss of lives in other countries including the USA.
Dem same boys from the Anger Filled Clan know that since whenever, any lil rainfall would cause water to accumulate. They use to play in the same water when they were lil; all of a sudden, the li’l water is described as flood.
The Parrot is in no way trying to be insensitive to the inconvenience experienced by some residents. The same residents know the circumstances surrounding the rainfall; they know it’s climate change that’s responsible and that much was done to prevent a repeat of 2005; they know the drainage capacity; they know that the coast is below sea level and that some amount of accumulation of water is unavoidable following heavy rains.
The record shows that more rainfall was recorded now than then. That’s confirmed. So, in the light of this, the AFC’s request should be confirmed as A Fool’s Cry. So confirmed.
There is one confirmation that can be made without conformation; the Roop (I can imagine his elation on being mentioned here) can be confirmed as just that; a ROOP; Raving Over Own Propaganda. Don’t need a COP, Conscious Overzealous Parrot, to tell you that. Squawk! Squawk!
