The shortage of kerosene oil in Guyana seems to have been relieved, as yesterday scores of persons were seen crowding the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) service station on Regent Street, in a hurry to buy kerosene oil.
Numerous service stations about Georgetown had reported that they were awaiting a new shipment of kerosene. Speaking with one of the staffers of another GuyOil service station, this newspaper was made to understand that they (GuyOil) received a shipment of kerosene Tuesday night. Kerosene was delivered to various GuyOil service stations yesterday morning.
A staffer at one of the GuyOil service stations explained that that gas station received approximately 15,000 litres of kerosene yesterday morning, and they expected to deplete that stock by or before the weekend.
