Joe Fernandes, whom the police arrested during their investigations into the Guysuco payroll heist at Wales two months ago, was never charged.
In fact the police released him a few days after the robbery after their investigations proved that Fernandes was in no way connected to the robbery. They said that Fernandes’s brother might have been a suspect instead.
Kaieteur News, in the wake of the arrests, had published a photograph of Fernandes proclaiming him to be one of the suspects. While he was a suspect, the police have since cleared the air.
Kaieteur News apologises to Fernandes for the publication that suggested that he might have been among the men who had snatched the payroll.
