BATH SETTLEMENT, WEST COAST BERBICE — The Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation, of the West Coast of Berbice, held its first Christmas parade on December 23.
Secretary/Treasurer of the group, Zulfikar Alli, explained that the objectives were to give the less fortunate children a chance to witness and have a feel of what Christmas is all about, and for them to understand the meaning of caring for their fellow man.
The members of the Foundation attempted to create a mobile Christmas village by decorating vehicles.
Santa Claus and four of his helpers, dressed as angels, distributed hampers, toys, sweets and other goodies to children as well as families along the way, as they strutted to the beat of Christmas carols.
The event got started at Bath Settlement and ended at Rosignol Village on the West Coast of Berbice, some 90 minutes later.
Scores of T-shirts with the logo of the Aditya Kids Trust Fund Foundation emblazoned were also handed out.
In addition, one family each from Bath Settlement, Number Ten, Bush Lot, Number Eight and Rosignol villages was given a special hamper.
Secretary/Treasurer of the group expressed his gratitude to those who assisted in making this event possible, especially Pastor Ramnarine Ramnarack of Bath Bible School and the members of the Lighthouse Fellowship, of Blairmont.
