…owner critical of security service
One city businessman is currently counting his losses, as a person or persons unknown broke into his auto spares shop and carted off an undisclosed amount of cash and items.
The proprietor of Krishna Auto Store, Krishna Datt Singh, said that he arrived at his Quamina Street business place only to find that it was broken into.
According to Singh, he turned up at his business place at about 08:00 hours yesterday, only to find that the western wooden wall had been broken and the building burglarised.
According to the businessman, the intruders made off with a large quantity of car accessories, alarm systems, flash lights, car lights, car horns, and an undisclosed sum of cash.
When asked if there was a security guard on duty at the premises, Singh said that the MMC security firm is contracted to secure the premises.
Singh said that when he contacted the company, someone said that, at around 03:30 hours yesterday, the alarm on the building went off, and when they checked, everything was intact.
He said he has since informed the company of the breakage.
According to Singh, he has since received information that security men from the company were seen on his premises for a very lengthy period.
He has, however, expressed his dissatisfaction over the level of services being provided by the company.
Only last month, his business was broken into and articles were removed.
The man said that when he contacted MMC on that occasion, he was given the same story as he was given yesterday.
