The Lion’s Club of Georgetown yesterday hosted its annual Children’s Christmas Party at the Saint Stanislaus College Auditorium, Georgetown, with the presence of Santa Clause and all that was wonderful for the delight of the children.
Director of the Club, Ms. Odessa De Barros, did her best at entertaining all the children present at the party, having encouraged the children to display some of their many talents, such as dancing, singing, and even modelling, which of course brought a lot of smiles to faces.
According to the secretary of the organization, Ms. Roxanne Luckie, a former president of the said Club, the organization was established six years ago, and they have been participating in all kinds of charitable programmes nationwide.
The body hopes that this will continue to be so.
She went on to say that this year’s party, which had present some 80 children who were mostly from the community of Werk-en-Rust, is one of many charitable programmes the Club annually takes part in.
She added that the features the Club would normally look at are mostly that of the medical and the educational fields.
At this year’s Christmas party, the children certainly enjoyed themselves to the fullest, having Santa Clause in their presence with all his merriment and delightful character.
The children were feted with lots of candies, food, drinks and definitely gifts to fulfill their satisfaction.
