Bandits brazenly attacked and robbed 20-year-old Fiona Lam, last evening at her Lot 95 Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara home, and carted off an unknown amount of items.
Kaieteur News understands that the woman was beaten in the head with a hammer.
According to reports, Lam was in front of her home around 20:20 hrs last evening when the bandits struck. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where her condition is listed as critical.
Investigations are continuing into the matter. This is the second such attack to happen on the East Coast in the recent week.
On Thursday, businessman Claude Kanhai was beaten in the head with a hammer after an apparent robbery went wrong.
A security guard apprehended a man with blood-stained clothes in the area shortly after that attack.
