Police on the Essequibo Coast are investigating an incident where two illegal firearms were found in a car.
Reports are that around noon yesterday, police on the Aurora Public Road stopped a car carrying three people to carry out a search. The men were ordered out the car and were searched.
The police found one unlicensed .38 and an unlicensed 9 mm pistol on two of the three occupants, neither of whom are from Essequibo Coast and are licensed firearm holders.
The men are in police custody.
