National distance runner Lionel D’Andrade left the country last Wednesday to compete in the Suriname Marathon which is scheduled to be staged today in Paramaribo.
D’ Andrade in a brief comment with Kaieteur Sport before he departed said that he along with Kevin Johnson are expected to participate in the race, but was unable to ascertain whether top distance runner Cleveland Forde will be present.
To make the trip to the neighbouring country possible, D’ Andrade received monetary assistance from Rajkumar Ganesh of Double Decker Hot Dogs and Burgers.
