At approximately 10:30 hours yesterday, Seon John, 22, of Lot 971 Block ‘F’, Sophia, died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he had been nursing injuries he sustained when he fell out of a coconut tree on November 8, last.
Speaking with John’s mother, Desiree Ramsay, she told Kaieteur News that she returned to Guyana from Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday last, after she received reports that her son had been injured after falling out of a coconut tree.
According to her, one of John’s friends had called him up and asked him to come and pick coconuts with him. While they were picking coconuts, she said, John apparently fell from the tree and was subsequently taken to the GPHC where he remained, nursing his injuries till he succumbed yesterday morning.
