A prison officer was arrested after he tried to smuggle 149 grams of cannabis into the Georgetown Prison yesterday.
Investigations revealed that at about 11:00 hours, the officer who was working in the prison yard, left to go outside the compound to collect a pair of regulation boots.
He reportedly told a female rank at the prison gate that he was taking the boots to the prison shoe repair shop.
