The Rotary Club of Georgetown will, for the first time in many years, be hosting an International Bar at Thirst Park, Banks DIH on Saturday, featuring the national cuisines and beverages of some twelve countries.
Expert chefs will be preparing special dishes from Brazil, the Netherlands, Russia, India, Belize, Surinam, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, China, Indonesia, Singapore and Guyana.
Persons attending the event will enjoy a selection of dishes such as samoosa, churrasco, Brazilian sausages, Dutch smoked sausages, sate, chicken roulet, stuffed dough, doces, gulab Jamoon, kompot and a variety of international beverages.
The Rotary Club has called the event a real ‘ole tyme International Bar’, reminiscent of the days when the International Bars were held at Colgrain House and where the International Embassies in Guyana would feature their cuisines. A number of Embassies will again be participating in this highly popular event.
The International Bar will also feature the popular Sonic Boom stereo sounds which will be mixing the old with the new for patrons to dance the evening away while feasting on a wide selection of delicious dishes and drinks.
The International Bar is a major fund raising event of the year for the Rotary Club of Georgetown.
Advance tickets priced at $2,000, will be available at all Digicel ‘Smartcell’ Outlets from tomorrow. The evening will feature attractive gate prizes of a Caribbean Airline ticket, one Blackberry cell phone and a Genequip 1000watt generator.
