A memorial service for Stabroek News’s Editor-in-Chief David de Caires will be held today from 15:30 hrs (3.30pm) at Brickdam Cathedral.
Mr. de Caires who passed away on Saturday last was cremated in Barbados on Wednesday, following a service of praise and thanksgiving at the Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens at the Ridge, Christ Church, in Barbados.
Instead of floral tributes at this afternoon’s service, a collection will be taken in aid of the St. John Bosco Orphanage in Plaisance.
Last night the family hosted a wake at Mr. de Caires’ home, Moray House, Camp and Quamina Streets, Georgetown.
