Arguably the best Super Bike rider locally, Guyana’s Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira performed creditably, registering one first, a second and third place at last Sunday’s Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club International Meeting, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Vieira, who has been plagued by a knee injury that forced him to miss the previous local Meet, returned to form with a consistent performance against the likes of Canadians Kevin Graham, Craig Atkinson and locals Gregory Lopes, Chris McLean, Mark Menezes and Andy Rajkaran.
The local speedster in an interview with Kaieteur Sport last Monday evening said that he is looking forward to next year where he intends to produce even better results providing he remains fit and healthy.
“I am slowing getting the measure of Kevin, who has dominated us for sometime, but the more I race against him, the more confident I’m feeling,” Vieira pointed out.
Vieira, who ended second overall in the motor bikes category, disclosed that he intends to get an upgrade in machine to challenge Graham next season.
He then extended thanks to sponsors Gizmos and Gadgets, Jiffy Lubes Services, Cassia H2O to go and Cellink Plus for their continued support, while promising better performances come next year.
