In an effort to popularise Tai Chi and Qi Gong, the Guyana Wushu Association will stage a Workshop on Sunday November 9 at the National Gymnasium starting from 13:00hrs.
The local association has taken advantage of the presence of Sifu (Teacher) Rahman Khabir of Trinidad and Tobago, who will be holidaying in Guyana to solicit his expertise in conducting the Workshop.
The event available to participants of all ages and sexes, both non-Martial Artists and Martial Artists, free of cost.
However, the association is seeking corporate or individual sponsorship to cover any cost attached so that participants can fully benefit from the free programme.
The Workshop will look at various forms of Tai Chi and Qi Gong including – Tai Chi Iron Fan; Developing Qi for Health and Self Defence; Chan Su Chen (Gathering Energy); Fa Jing (Releasing Energy); Silk Weaving for Health and Longevity; Strengthening the Prostate Gland; and Meditation.
The Honorable Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony has been invited to declare the Workshop open.
