The Enterprise Community Policing Group staged a successful fund raising Grass track race Meeting last Sunday at the Air Strip ground.
The event featured several races for novices and professional riders, Chappys and stunt riders, which thrilled fans in attendance.
The day’s racing opened with a novice event, which was sponsored by the Enterprise Community Policing Group and Wayne ‘Chiney’ Christiani surged to the lead and eventually victory ahead of Kaioum Hamid and Sewchan Baljeet respectively.
The Chappy race resulted in a win for Devon ahead of William Latchman, while the opening professional race saw Dave Gangadin beating Alvin Balgobin to the first place.
Among the novices, this event being sponsored by Rajesh Woodworking, Daniel Ali defeated Sewchan Baljeet and Roopchand Latchman respectively.
Alvin Balgobin romped to victory in the second pro event, with Kaioum Hamid second and Dave Gangadin third.
The stunt event sponsored by the Policing Group and Daniel and Sons Jewellery resulted in Dave Gangadin ruling the roost as he performed among other riders including Devon, Daniel Ali, Roopchand Latchman, Kumar ‘P boy’ Latchman and Sewchan Baljeet.
Daniel Ali claimed the last novice event on the programme sponsored by Best Boy General Store, defeating second placed Sewchan Baljeet, while William Latchman settled for third.
Dave Gangadin was named the overall stunt champion rider claiming the Albert and Family and Medicare Pharmacy sponsored event and trophy.
The organisers have planned several similar meetings as part of their fund raising effort and to keep the sport alive which will be released shortly.
