Final to be played under lights on Sunday
The President of the DCMCO Patrick Thompson will be on hand on Sunday evening to present trophies and incentives at the conclusion of the DCMCO softball cricket competition which was sponsored by the Maryland based organization.
The semi-finals will be played at the Malteenoes Sports Club tomorrow with Park Rangers meeting Wolf’s Warriors in the first encounter at noon and Ariel facing Regal in the second match.
The respective winners will then meet in the final which is scheduled to commence at 6.00pm on Sunday at the same venue under floodlights.
Apart from the first prize of $100,000 and $50,000 to the runner-up, there will be incentive prizes and trophies for the M.V.P.; best bowler; best batsman; and man-of-the match in the final. Shirts supplied by the sponsors will be worn by the finalists for this game.
The Malteenoes venue is expected to take on a carnival type atmosphere as music, food and drinks bars will be in place the organizers have said that his weekend’s activities will contribute to the club’s fund raising efforts.
