Day two of the VII Pan American Junior Squash Championships in Lima, Peru was Guyana’s worst day so far as they lost all the matches they competed in.
First it was the women’s individual event where Mary Fung-A-Fat, Ashley Khalil and Keisha and Kayla Jeffrey all lost in the round of sixteen to opponents from Canada, Mexico and Argentina.
Khalil and Keisha Jeffrey, silver medalists from a year ago, were then upset in the first round of the women’s doubles by Ecuador and Alexander Arjoon and Raphael DeGroot gave a good account of themselves before going down to Canada in the men’s doubles.
The players will now focus on the team event which is scheduled to begin today as they look forward to matching their skills against the best of the Pan American region.
