A massive crowd was on hand to see Sequins of the Jumbo Jet Stables continue to dominate the feature C class event in the horses racing arena in Guyana.
The champion horse seems to be getting better with every race meet, battering the field to win the feature event when the Silver Park Turf club ran off its annual eight card horserace meet last Sunday at their racetrack at No 6 West Coast Berbice.
The feature event, which was sponsored by Banks DIH and had a first prize of a whopping $300,000 and the Banks Premium Beer Classic trophy, saw Sequins subduing its opponents into submission to continue its winning streak to take the 1400m race and the hefty pay day.
Sequins, trained by Fazal Habibullah, took up the front running position as the race broke and never relinquished the lead.
The champion horse with Jockey Colin Ross on the mount seemed to be getting stronger as the race progressed, lengthening the lead with every stride to win by about 6 lengths in the end.
Annie’s Play Mate came in second while spin and Squeeze was third and Sacrifice fourth. Forest Ranger of the Elcock stable ridden by Jockey Paul Delph fell during the grueling event breaking its left front leg in the process and had to be put away.

La Bayamosa ridden by jockey Kumar Singh was out of the gates like a shot from a gun to beat it’s opponents by some 8 lengths ahead of Its All Indian and Pixie Fire. Coconut Boy, which was once unbeaten, ran out to steam to finish last.
Alphabet of the Elcock stable ridden by Paul Delph produced a clever finish to edge its opponents and take the F and G classic and the $180,000 purse over 1200m. Alphabet won in a photo finish from Fire Power, Luv You Dee and Mattarazzi.
Jockey Colin Ross piloted Kavinci of the Jumbo Jet stable to victory in the H and I class event to win the $110,000 first prize in the 1400m race.
