When rivalry in the Banks Beer division one league continued at the Thirst Park
on Wednesday evening, Beacon and Flamingo recorded respective 1-0 wins over Black Pearl and Houston Stars.
Beacon’ nippy forward Sherwin Grimes was the man on target in the 38th minute of a match that they dominated. The scored could have been doubled in the second half were it not for a missed penalty.
In the opening encounter, Captain Shem Porter secured full points for Flamingo with his 71st minute header from first post off a well taken corner.
The win keeps Flamingoes unbeaten record intact and prepares them for their big clash against leaders Western Tigers next Wednesday at the same venue.
A double header is set for Tuesday when Northern Rangers play Beacons from 17:30hrs with the night capper featuring Huston Stars and Black Pearl.
