Rudolph Victor, a Guyanese residing at Chapel Hill, East End, British Virgin Islands, was arrested and charged last Saturday for being armed with an offensive weapon and using threatening language.
The accused appeared in the Magistrates’ Court on Monday last, before Senior Magistrate Mrs. Valerie Stephens. The charges were read to him and he pleaded guilty.
Prosecutors are alleging that Victor, on Saturday at about 11:20 am, while at home with his family armed himself with a cutlass and threatened to do bodily harm to his 18-year-old daughter.
Magistrate Stephens ordered the accused to report to the Sandy Lane Center for an evaluation. He was placed on bail and his case was adjourned to September 24.
Victor was recently arrested (on August 2) and subsequently charged for beating his 11-year-old son with a flashlight. The blow had caused a wound on the boy’s head.
Victor had appeared in Court on August 13 on a charge of wounding. He was ordered to report to the Social Development Department for a Social Inquiry Report. That case was also adjourned to September 24. (From BVI news)
