A police constable is currently nursing a gunshot wound at the Georgetown Public Hospital, after being shot by a fellow rank on Saturday night.
The victim, police constable 19705 Raymond Larson, 25, stationed at the Timehri Police Outpost, sustained a gunshot wound to the left shoulder. The suspect is reportedly a police sergeant who is also stationed at Timehri.
According to reports, Larson was in the barrack room, at around 21:30 hours, when the incident occurred.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he was treated and admitted as a patient in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
It is unclear whether the shooting was intentional or accidental. When Kaieteur News visited Larson at the hospital yesterday, he declined to comment.
Larson is said to be in stable condition.
