WRHM Television, along with the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC), has filed an injunction against the National Communications Network (NCN) preventing it from broadcasting the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Yesterday, Justice Bovell Drakes granted the ex-parte injunction preventing NCN from broadcasting or copying or transmitting NBC’s television broadcast signal. These broadcast signals include NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, USA and OXYGEN.
The state-owned channel cannot broadcast without the consent or authorization of the Caribbean Media Corporation until the hearing and determination of a Summons which is returnable on August 27.
Should NCN neglect to obey the order, the injunction stated, then it will be liable to process of execution for the purpose of compelling them.
